Keep a close eye on your SD Cards!!!

This weekend I dropped my X50V :-( The Rhino Skin case did a wonderful job of protecting it, not a scrtch on it. BUT apparently my SD (1GB Sandisk) flew out and I didn't realize till I tried to use it and found my programs missing the next day... So I warn you all out there, keep an eye on those cards..

mine flew out when i dropped mine too. plus the fact that they are nice and slippery plastic doesn't help when they fly out on a hard tile floor. they can go quite a ways that way.

Yikes! Thank goodness it costs less to replace the SD card than the X50!

I had fairly similar experience - it was my x30h instead. the card fell out (probably in a bus) after a violent drop, and i didn;t know until the next day. It's only a 256Mb card, fortunately.

A good suggestion.

Is anyone besides me concerned that when you have an SD and CF in the x50v, there is quite a gap betwwen them for dust etc....?

A type 1 CF card will leave a gap. A type 2 CF card will not.

I have a new Sandisk Ultra II 2GB CF, I assumed that it was type 2?

I don't worry about the gap because I keep a SD card and CF card in it all times which means the connectors are covered and protected.. So the dust can't really get into anything and a bit of Duster will get it out if I ever feel the need.

I was bothered by this gap too.
Here's what I did about it.

I think a strip of black electrical tape on the top of the Axim is a pretty good idea. I may do this... but probably not until AFTER I lose my card
