Dell insist on trying to deliver whilst i am at work

Hi

Anyone got any ideas or a way round Dell insisting they can only deliver to your home address? They say they can only deliver 9-6 which coincides with when i am at work. They won't deliver to my work address.

They did arrange an evening delivery but they never showed up. When i phoned to complain i was told they NEVER deliver in the evening, strange becuase i still have the voicemail from Dell stating the evening delivery.

I keep on coming home to 'failed to deliver cards' through the door.

Who is the actual carrier? UPS? DHL?

I usually have things shipped to my office because I'm not home for signing. I recently forgot to have an order shipped to the office and it showed up at home and no one was there, so off it went to UPS warehouse. They said they would deliver the next day (again there wouldn't be anyone there ).

So, I called and gave them the delivery number that the delivery guy left on my door. They changed the delivery address to my office and all was well with the world!! :approve:

Caveat: This was not a Dell order and obviously was shipped by UPS.

UPS should also leave you a slip on the door. If you sign it and leave it for them, they are authorized to leave it at your doorstep. Of course acquiring the slip means they have to have attempted delivery.

Thanks

The courier won't change delivery address without Dell's permission and Dell say i cannot have it at work.

I looked up the courier's depot and it's about an hours drive away.

I've got a couple of emails in with Dell, i'll wait and see what we can agree.

Thanks for the advice

I have done it two ways first do NOT tell them it is your office just shipping address. Also say it is a gift to be delivered there.

I thought that too, but they actually appear to have two categories of signature delivery. One category will allow what you suggest. the second requires a sig, period. They won't allow leaving at the house even if you sign the little card. It must be done in person. I was surprised by this distinction.
