AO2 UPgrade Issues- losing Active Sync

I tried to upgrade my Axim X50v to the new ROM version to no success. I have Active Sync Version 3.7.1 (Build 4034).

The problem is I can download and backup everything following the prompts but when it comes time to update a message on the Axim says looking for USB cable and my Active Sync dissapears from my laptop until I reboot it? On top of that everything is
wiped out of the Axim.

I know it's been successful for some but not for others.

Any ideas on what I may be doing wrong?

Thanks for your help.

Maybe worth getting the latest version 3.8 and trying that...

Are you trying to do the update through wifi?

ROM updates need to be done with the USB cable connected directly to your PC.

I wasn't trying to upgrade through WIFI but through the USB/Cradle.

To answer the other question the 3.8 was the version I thought everyone was having problems with during the upgrade.

Thanks again.

You might want to just reference my posting, about rom update and bad dell support. I have the same problem as you. The next few questions/comments will be: you can not be connected to a usb hub, did you try doing a hard reset first, did you try it on another pc.etc... anyways I had many dealing with dell support, my last conversation with them after I convinced them there was an update for the 3rd time, they told me dell is aware there is a problem with the update and they advise that you do not update at this time until dell releases the next update... No not a very helpful comment, but even a refubished model they sent me had the same issue on the two pcs that I tried it on....good luck and if you find any working magic solution, make sure to post it.
