Pocketmusic, though user friendly, is a cpu hog. Just try multi-tasking with it, it makes the system terribly slow. It just plain bogs down the system when playing mp3s or oggs. According to XCPUSCALAR, Pocketmusic hogs approx. 75% of the cpu power. GSPLAYER uses approx. 30%. That's a huge difference if you plan on using other programs while listening to music, which I do every day. And, the fact that GSplayer is free makes it the superior product as far as I'm concerned. But, I myself use Iplay, which when playing oggs, uses only about 13% of the cpu. I've found iplay to be the best in terms of mulitasking and saving battery life. But, unlike Gsplayer, Iplay isn't free.

I use GSplayer, after having tried WinAmPAQ and PocketMusic.
I hold my "current" MP3s on a 1Gb CF card, and to me, the only problem wit GSPlayer is to create a playlist. You can't open directly a full folder, you have to explicitely add every file one by one... Apart from that, it's perfect.
When making playlists in GSPlayer, open a directory with your music files and simply push and drag your stylus from top to bottom (make sure it is NOT on a file name when you start dragging), just like selecting multiple files in Windows, selecting multiple files in GSPLayer works, and saves quite some time. Drag from top to bottom to add your files in chronological order :).

That's the understatement of the year! I asked him to try a sale so people would be able to explain just how good his program is, but alas 40th floor and I have a long history that he just won't forget. I'm reluctant to buy the full version because he knows my name. it's that bad our relationship.
Anyway eugchen check out the time limited demo of iPlay C/S and if you get over the sticker shock buy it. You'll hear things in your MP3's you didn't know were there.
@40thFloor- Is it safe for me to purchase your program yet?

Ahh, the times we had at PPCP, and brighthand, and pocketnow, and PPCT. Sometimes I miss the bad old days. ;)

ok i have currently tried gsplayer, betaplayer, mortplayer, and pocketmusic. my favorite i have to say is pocketmusic. the reasons i mainly like this one is the fact that it is winamp skinable.i love the fact that u can make it look like winamp.
not too big a fan of gsplayer since the current song is never highlighted, just the first one.
mortplayer was giving me problems on my unit for some reason.
i agree that pocketmusic takes about 75% of cpu power according to xcpuscalar, but i keep everything at 208Mhz, so it runs at 208MhZ regardless, so it's all cool with me.
one thing that i don't like about pocketmusic is that it is not vga aware. when you apply vga brute force it does not look right, so i must settle for qvga.
Dude, just try iPlay C/S. You can only play 3 or 5 songs before you can use it again but at least have the experience. The visualisations alone have sold me, (not fullscreen unfortunately ), once you gronk his instructions for fine tuning it's like BeataPlayer for MP3's!
I wonder where he is?

Playing COCAINE BLUES by Johnny Cash at 192kbps mp3, x50v set to 208mhz powersave, CPU usage fluctuated between 10 and 20, never going over 20. Most of the time when I listen to 160kbps Ogg files, the CPU usage seems to be right around 13%. iPlay is an amazing program, if not somewhat intimidating for the first time user. But if saving battery power is your concern like it was mine, then get iPlay. It's got tons of functions including an overclocker, battery temperature gauge, and other random things for us nerds to tinker with.
