What's eating my storage?
My Axim is less than 2 weeks old. The only thing I have on it is Resco File Explorer. I use email and have my PIM on it, with a fairly extensive list of contacts. But that's it. Should this really be taking up nearly 26MB in storage? that leaves me with less than 10MB on the built in storage. What am i doing wrong here?

E-mail Attachments?
You should be showing a lot more free space than you are. The only thing I could even guess as to the culprit would be e-mail attachments. Have you modified the default e-mail synchronization setting?
By the way, congratulations on your purchase. I hope the new relationship smooths out a bit for you! :)
Best of luck!

This is really getting wierd. Everytime I delete something, like an Explorer favorite or delete files from my mail, my storage gets even less. Something is screwed up here, or I am.

Are you browsing the internet a lot? If so, check how many days history is being retained. "Tools" "Options" "Memory". Default is 30 days, I think. I dropped mine to 1. It made a big difference.

Two points:
1. Use the free program Where Is My RAM to figure out where your memory is going - http://www.freewareppc.com/utilities...myramarm.shtml
2. Get yourself a 256MB, 512MB, or 1GB storage card! You'll find that the built-in memory runs out pretty quick.

I have a 1 G CF already. But that won't help me with things like PIM or email, will it? Doesn't that stuff load directly to the built in storage? And if so, isn't there then a limit to the functionality of the device? Wouldn't it be nice if we could get CF cards built in to our brains for when we start to lose our own memory. But, I'm sure that's on the horizon.

All right. this is getting ridiculous. I apologize if this is a double post. but there is seriously something wrong here. I have nothing but PIM stored and my free storage is 5.59MB and Program memory is 14.72. I deleted all emails, all Explorer history, made sure that all is stored on a 1G CF card. I was at 8 MB a few minutes ago, got on the internet, opened the NY Times, then closed it and erased history, and now I'm down to 5.59MB. Is it me or is it the machine?

Thanks!!

Yes, your cache will build up quickly. I use MemMaid almost everyday. It cleans up the mess.
