Anyone know an easy step by step way to install the happy tapping keyboard on the X50V?

Download HappyTapping Keyboard from the link on this page.
http://d.hatena.ne.jp/KOTETU/00000103
It's compressed using LZH compression. I used ExtractNow to unzip it.
This should give you the file "HappyTappingKeyboard.arm.CAB".
Install this cab file in the normal way; I copy mine to the PPC and then use "CabInstl". It needs to be installed to Main Memory. I think you may then need a soft reset.
This should give you a new entry in the keyboard list for "Happy Tapping Keyboard" by selecting this you should get a basic keyboard that works in VGA or QVGA.
If you want to use some of the skins. You need to download one of the skin packs. Try here.

If you want to use it in VGA, QVGA, Landscape and Portrait, you will need 4 sets of keyboard bitmaps, one for each orientation, they all have reasonable names to identify them.
Copy the keyboard bitmaps to somewhere on your PPC. They don't need to be in Main Memeory.
From the keyboard selector list select "Options..." then select "Happy Tapping Keyboard" as the Input Method, then select "Options...". In the top dialogue box you need to enter the path and name of the appropriate Portrait bitmap, use the button to the right to help find it.
In the second from top dialogue box you need to enter the path and name of the appropriate Landscape bitmap, use the button to the right to help find it.
I think the third dialogue is for sound effects, but I don't use it.
I only use Happy Tapping for VGA, so only have two bitmaps installed Portrait_vga and Landscape_vga, presumably if you wanted to keep swapping between VGA and QVGA, you might have to keep changing these two dialogues.
I have been using HappyTap for about a month now it works just fine. The only thing I miss are gestures.
Hope this helps. :)
