Listen to music on the way to class, mess around with wi-fi between classes if there is extra time, use it with external keyboard to take notes in class, and if things get a bit boring, there's always NES and SNES emulation.
i was gonna say, why not mess around with wifi in class, but if you are playing games, i approve:approve:
I use my x50 for keeping track of my busy schedule and the many assignments that I need to get done. I am a nursing student so I also have my drug book and a medical calculator on my axim. I am hoping to get the time to put some powerpoint presentations on it, but I think that is going to have to wait for a while.
i use it to keep my informed on whats due and as a alarm every morning. As soon as i make enouth cash ill grab a bluetooth kb for it to take notes.

X50v WM5 Unofficial A03 (WM5 AUK 3.5.2)
PPC6700 WM5 AUK 3.5.2
I use Spacetime as my primary calculator on my X3i. So far it's taken me up into Calc I. I just got my X50v though and am waiting for my brando to arrive before I start using it.
I wanted a laptop to use in class, but couldn't afford one so I got the x50 mid. This thing is just as good as a laptop, if not better due to its size. Yea the software that comes with it is limited and everything you need to make it great costs too much, but this is the internet and everything is free so for the price of the pda you get everything.
In my boring classes I play scrabble, sim city, tetris, etc. Haven't tried emulators yet. Then in a few of my classes its great. I can login to the site to look up the homework problems and submit them right in class. So now I can use my class time to get work done. And I can download powerpoint and pdf documents to view.
i'm a 3rd year information techonology university student, and this is how is use my axim at school:
- alarm clock (for getting up in the morning; knowing when the next class starts, etc),
- managing deadlines (assignment due dates; exams, etc),
- taking notes (what homework questions to do; announcements; etc),
- saving contact information (students; faculty; school #'s; etc),
- keeping track of marks (my own, and for the class where i TA for; i use pocket excel for this, btw),
- keeping track of my university career (which courses i've taken, which ones i need to take, my schedule information; how many credits i have, what my gpa is; etc),
- and of course, viewing class notes given out by profs on their web sites (pdf's and ms word docs; web pages, etc).
Use it in boring lectures to play games or watch simpsons, spend my time during travelling on the trains as an mp3 player/video player, tweak every now and then (yes i consider that a hobby) do some notes, use it for slide viewing in tutorials etc.
Currently a CS university student going to year 2, but thinking of changing to networks

I am in engineering
my X50v replaced my old sony clie for PIM, and now I can follow lectures using pdf or power point slides, go on Wifi once in a while
at home, I spend more time on my bed using my Axim to remote control my home desktop :)
Er... are there any people here who aren't computer scientists or engineers?
I'm a tech writing major and I love love LOVE my x50. I do everything with it. Listen to music, use it as motivation, watch movies, read books (and assignements), use is at amusement.
