HELP Me!!...and hear my other Ramblings...

Last night, after reading this forum I decided to go online and upgrade my AXIM x50v with some of these progs you guys tout here.

1. I downloaded the Betaplayer...All seems well with this item and its download/files. Great program evryone needs this one, and thanks for the suggestion.

2. I have this incesant(sp)need to keep pictures I find on the web of things I like... PIE doesnt allow you to do this so, Per suggestion, I downloaded SBP PocketPlus...Seems like a decent prog but I think its screwing around with my Axim.
Question: Has anyone had a problem with this prog locking up their Axim like a bad plumbing job on a toilet?

3. Heres where It starts to get friggan ugly.
I went to the dell website and download that upgrade dated 1/20/05 for my Axim X50v. ****, was I never more depressed! :bang:
After downloading the ROM update, you basically flush the toilet on your Axim and then by miracle of technology it places your crap back in the toilet...If all goes well your left with an updated Axim.
Question: Has anyone had a problem with this update?

4. I think this was my crowning acheinment forthe evening.
I downloaded Ministumbler...Do I need this?

After this downlaod it was all over for my PPC...
All my wireless setting were gone.
I got several error messages. and then nothing.
I tried to plug it into the cradle to sync up... Nothing.
Nothing worked...it wouldnt even shut down.
I did a soft and hard reset...Then I did the Nuke of all resets...The dreaded Reset& Power combo! :approve:

I can't help you with all your questions, but there is a free browser called ftxBrowser. It has a tabbed interface which I like and you can tap and hold on a picture and get a drop down menu with the ability to save picture as. You can find ftxBrowser HERE.

Shoot, if I don't hard reset about every two months or so, something's wrong!! Of course I DO run and test a lot of beta software, so I guess it's to be expected.

You'll get used to it, Idwadi. Use Sprite Premium back-up and you can recover from a hard reset in about five minutes! Or, if you decide to reinstall everything manually, about an hour or so!

Yeah I used to have probs with my wi-fi on my X50 mid, and I had to hard reset every three hours!!!!!!! I got VERY tired of having to hard reset a lot and actually almost traded my X50 Mid for a X5 basic!!! LOL. Please don't go this far to get rid of an axim that is not working!! It isn't cool.

I also had problems saving pictures with PIE, so I got Netfront and all is well.
There are several threads talking about problems with the new ROM update. Check them out.
