Yeti is essentially the cude engine (grid based 2d height map) writen from the ground up for software based low power devices. It currently uses some of the same textures and models so it is not surprising that it looks similar :)

When i first ported yeti to the x50v, it was running at about 18fps. It reequired a fair amount of optimisation to get it up to 30fps. It may be possible to do some of these tricks on the cube port as well.
