Cascading Start Menu without Wisbar?
I am tired of dealing with the little issues that wisbar seems to have. I am looking for a plugin or app that will give me the cascading menus. I use Pocket Plus and Journal bar so I need something compatible with that. I can do almost all of the things wisbar does with stuff I have now except the menu thing.
I looked at eXperience but don't like the way it works (No Landscape Mode).
Cheers

I've tried a few from http://www.freewareppc.com/utilities...managers.shtml but haven't fallen in love yet. You have my sympathy on the wisbar issues... there's a lot of fluff that's quite pretty but it adds too many quirks. I've actually gone back to just the non-cascading world and useing MagicButton to handle my tasks. As a software developer I should probably get off my butt and delve into the world of menuing systems but, hey, that beer over there looks quite tasty right now :) Good luck in your hunt!

I feel you on the beer over software development. I have all the tools I need to write stuff for this thing but I don't have the motivation to do it. For now I am just using the regular menu, I've seperated it into nice categorized folders. Pocket Plus handles my launcher/close button issues plus it has the IE add-ons and that nifty battery bar accross the top of the screen.
Cheers

ProgramMenuPlus does what you want. It's $5 shareware. http://www.tillanosoft.com/ce/pmenu.html
I, too, tried WisBar and soon dropped it.
MagicButton is my long-time favorite, combined with Launcher. I used to use cLaunch, but it isn't compatible with x50v (yet).

Yeah, I've done the nicely categorized folders and addressed the running apps with a kind task manager + battery meter. Glad to know I'm not the only person out there who went for the simple solution (as we call in it dev land 'elegant'). Unfortunately my choices tonight are to either head out to a margarita & salsa party or transfer 5 gallons & bottle another 5 of Russian Imperial Stout while doing the online thing. Choices, choices. I'll leave it up to the husband :)

MagicButton, I agree, is worthy for the long-haul. It's amazing what Microsoft decides to say 'no' to. I mean, come on, if you don't let the close button close programs then at least show what's running!

Try GSPocketMagic++. The download link is in the upper right hand corner. You will need a program that can extract (unzip) an ".lzh" file. Or, PM me and I'll send the ".rar" file instead.

I tried GSPocketMagic and it's not too bad. Nothing beats WisBar in terms of it's cascading menus though. But I'll keep looking.

What problems are you having with CLauncher? I've been using Version 12.03 for about a month now on my X50v with no real problems other that it can be a little sluggish when loading icons.
Mark.
