Axim50 and configuring PEAP

I'm trying to configure my wireless for a bit more security. Using IAS on W2003. I'm using PEAP to login to the wireless network on my WinXP laptop, and that's working fine.

But when I use it on my Axim, I get the login screen, enter the appropriate information, and get the following error message.

Server Validation Error
The server certificate is issued by an unknown authority.

Been through the registry, and don't see where to disable server certificate checking.

Using the Odyssey client, I get authenticated fine, but never get an address from DHCP.

Any suggestions on where to go with either ??

Thanks,

It's not on the Axim side that you would have to disable certificate checking. It's the server that is demanding that the certificate be present.

I have configured our wireless to use PEAP in this manner, but I required that the certificate be installed. I'm not sure how you do it without the certificate or if it can be done at all.

Its on the Axim side. With the Odyssey client, you can disable certificate checking, and it authenticates fine.

The ISA server is also the root CA, which the client doesn't acknowledge as a known CA.

And I don't see anyway to modify the root CA listing within the Axim.

Thanks,

Thanks,

I'm having the very same issue. I need to connect to a cisco wireless network, its open authentication with WEP, and uses 802.1x with Protected EAP (PEAP), with secure password authentication method of EAP-MSCHAPv2. There is no certificate validation needed or required on either end. I set up my connection in Odyssey, and enabled the odyssey and the wifi, it connects, autheticates, and says it has a good signal, but it just sits there after that. I don't get a dhcp address, and my email/web dont work. I can walk over to the next building that uses unsecure wireless and turn off odyssey and it will get dhcp instantly. It requires my login for my active directory domain which I also put in. Anyone know whats going on?
