PocketDivx play on BetaPlayer but not on PC?

I have media files that are currently in vid and divx format but are large (500+ mb) and I want to reencode them to be smaller. Introduce PocketDivx. Nice tool and very easy to use.

My problem is that I cannot playback the movies I encoded with PocketDivx on my PC. I can play the original xvid or divx video but not the reencode. However, the reencodes play beautifully on my x50v. On the PC I get sound but no video. Am I missing a codec or something on my PC?

It would be nice to encode all of my videos for PPC but still be able to view them on my notebook.

I had this problem. I found a codec (for Media Player, that's what I'm using), and now things are OK.

Is there a special codec for this? I thought PocketDivx made Divx files or xvid files? Am I using an older version. Hmm, I'll check that.

It may depend on which player you're using. I have found working with video to be extremely tricky at first.
