Minimum cache size ?

As other people have posted, I too noticed that there is a ˇsignificant˘ difference in browsing speed on my x50v when I move the temporary internet files from main memory to sd card by changing the registry. I was thinking to keep the cache in main memory but since it will take space in ram I want to reduce its size.

What is the default size of the cache ?

What is the minimum size you recommend and

how do I set it ? Thanks !

That explains it !

I found a nice thread about benchmarking SD cards. The ridiculous write speed of my DANE-ELEC 1GB sd was the reason (0.01 MB/s or 0.1x). I moved the cache to an old 128 mb cf card (write speed 0.16 MB/s or 1.1x) and I notice no slowdown while browsing ! Maybe you can perform a similar test before moving your cache to external storage. I wish I knew this before buying this card…

You can change PIE cache settings using a utility such as MemMaid. There is also an option to move cache to BIS, but this slows down surfing drastically.
