Sync wirelessly fine but unable to browse or see internet

Sorry for the new topic on this but I searhced the numerous WIFI connectivity threads and was unable to find this exact issue.

I have an AXIM X50V and a Dell Laptop with built in WIFI card. I have the laptop setup for an ad-hoc network while here at work because we do not have a router here. I am able to sync over wifi but am unable to browse internet using IE. I also tried gspayer to stream form the internet and this does not work as well.

Here is the bizzare part. Using vxUtil, I am able to ping various internet addresses like yahoo.com using the name. I thought once this happened I was home free but still IE does not connect to any web page. I can ping all of our internal network by name including my laptop.

Browsing and streaming works fine while on the USB cradle.

The last thing I tried was to install netbeui but that still did not fix it.

Any help is greatly appreciated and let me know if anyone needs more info to help me debug.

Thanks,

Pupule

I have a similar problem. I can browse Google, put when clink on any of the links from my search, the browser never displays the linked site. I can ping any of these sites but cannot browse. Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Ken

On the laptop, is Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) set up? If not, use the network set up wizard.

I could not get it to work, then I disables ICS and the interface, rebooted, enables ICS and then enabled the interface. Then it worked. ICS seems to have some issues around intermal mapping (bridging) of the connection. It seems to get confused sometimes and just loses it.
I wish is was not such a hack, i.e. that the interface must be 192.168.0.1 etc. I would like to have multiple gateways depending on what the network is configured like at the time. Obviously linux can do this, but ActiveSync dont work so good under Linux :) . And any ones that can do this routing under windows cost lots of my money.
Oh Well
