What do you clean your X50 with?

Sorry if this has been posted before, but I'd just like to ask what everyone uses to clean the screen on their X50s if they don't have a screen protector. Are wipes used for cleaning laptop screens ok?

The best thing is to get one of the cloths that are intended for cleaning glasses. They are nonabrasive and do well at taking everything off the screen.

I would recomend not using anything liquid (windex) as they tend to leave residue behind and could get into the unit. The wipes for laptop screens should work well also.

I've always used rubbing alcohol on my electronics. Don't know if this is bad for it, but I figured it's best since it dries up quickly and leaves no residue. It does a great job of cleaning just about anything for me.

Be careful with rubbing alcohol on plastic parts, I used it to clean some clear plastic once, and it made it all fuzzy, like frosted glass.

I used to clean my laptop screen with a damp cloth, and I mean barely any water at all, wet the cloth and wring it out over a sink till it stops dripping and your hards hurt! It should barely leave any water residue on the screen, then genty dry the screen with a lint free glasses cleaning cloth (try camera stores for these, and other optical cleaning supplies)

ALWAYS put any cleaner (whatever type) on the cloth/tissue.......NEVER ON THE SCREEN.

Personally, I rarely use anything other than a good "HUHhhhhhhhhhh" (like you're fogging a window) and then rub gently with my shirt-tail, kleenex, TP.......whatever is handy.

The few times I've found something really stubborn, I've used an alcohol prep pad squeezed till it's no longer dripping..

I just take mine into the shower with me every morning. I use Herbal Essence shampoo on it.

Dude....I'd be careful using Herbal Essence too often on your Axim. You can get a chamomile build-up on the processor leads and it will slow down and eventually just go into hibernation until you rinse it clean with some Witch Hazel.

Don't worry. I spray WD-40 in through the headphone jack, to prevent any buildups.

Thanks for the warning, though. :)

The only method I have found effective is with the cleaning cloth that come with glasses. Just a few strokes with this is enough to remove all fingerprints and other grime. I wouldn’t use anything else!

A little bath and bodyworks branded body wash would work with the herbal essence. Make it smell like roses or something.undefined

Try using your breath and a microfiber cloth from a camera store. No fluids necessary!

Gasoline.

No...

But seriously, boxwave started shipping "soft cards (to work bubbles out in application)" and cleaning cloths with their screen protectors as of late.

I wrote to ask if I could get a few, considering that I had bought 5 protectors before they started shipping these additional items, and they replied, "sorry...we don't have those separate."

That disappointed me. They should have dropped a few in the mail...they can track my purchase record.

And they should ship them free...great PR. "Boxwave" is right on the cloth.
