Adjust Contrast Applet

I have read the forums describing changing the registry to get the contrast applet to show, what I want to know is, is there a program or what not out there that allows the applet settings to remain even after a soft reset?

You have to use a registry editor. Find the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> ControlPanel -> Contrast and change Redirect to something like Redirect_ or another name. Save and soft reset and it should be in the Settings.

From what I understand htough, any future soft resets while allowing the contrast applet to still be present will reset the settings of the applet, anyway to keep it. Oh, and how does the screen compare to that of the hx4700 following edit?

Tweaks2k2 simply enables the Contrast applet, but the applet still fails to remember its setting after a reset. Personally, when I tweak the contrast, I end up at pretty much the default value all the time. I mostly use it to artifically dim the screen in the dark for ebook reading. The white on black setting in ubook helps too.

Its in System Tricks --> System Tricks, Collection 3 tab... ah. Its disabled. Whoops.

Anyway, you can enable a hidden contrast applet by going into the registry key 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\Contrast' and renaming the "Redirect" value to "Redirect_". Then soft reset and go to start > settings > system > contrast and adjust the contrast.

I just found the hidden contrast settings in Tweak2k2 (former Ipaq user) and think it does make a slight improvement. I also believe it does save the settings after a soft reset. Cuz with no soft reset if you go into contrast settings it is always in the far left setting. I looked at my icons on the today screen before performing a soft reset and found that it appears to by the same when the soft reset is complete. This my not be the case with a registry. Just my 2 cents.
