Anyway to turn off the "Cannot Connect" reminder pop up???

Regardless if the wireless is enabled or not, the reminder keeps popping up and making me nuts, especially if I was typing something it cuts you off. Anyway to turn this off???

I found that if your turn off the "check for new messages" in your mail accounts, it prevents the problem but having to toggle this setting all the time is a PITA. Any utility that I can install to change this???
