Pocket outlook deleting inbox messages?

I setup a couple of accounts in Pocket Outlook-- it seems that every once in a while, if I have a message in the inbox, and then I click send/receive to check for new messages, it completely erases my messages in the inbox (it does not send them to the trash bin or anything...)

Has this happened to anyone else?

Thanks!

Yes. It happened to me today when checking my Gmail. Sorry, I have no idea why though?

my aol account does that. when it re-syncs, it takes what's currently in my aol mailbox and downloads it onto my ppc, erasing what was previously in the synced folder. i'd recommend moving the messages you want to keep to a folder that is not being synced. you can easily create one. as long as the folder isn't synced, it shouldn't get deleted. another option is to not delete the messages from your online accounts (i.e., your gmail or aol inbox)

if you want to know how to create a folder or check which folders are getting synced, reply to this thread or send me a PM and i'll give you the steps (my axim is sleeping now, otherwise i'd tell you here...)

hope that helped :)

i don't know about hotmail, but you can check yahoo for free using AvantGo. they have a channel that you can use to sync your mail onto your ppc. you can either download their new software(which i highly recommend), or you can use the embedded version that comes with PIE.

sorry...i might have worded that wrong. i refered to checking for new mail(downloading the mail from the server onto your ppc...either wirelessly or through your desktop) as syncing.

It might be happening because your account is using POP3. when you download a e-mail with POP3, you delete it out of the inbox and store it on your PPC. if you have the option to use IMAP4 this won't happen because instead it will copy the e-mails to your PPC and keep them on the server. Gmail uses a POP3 so when you download from it you delete the messages too. I think there is a setting on Gmail that is supposed to prevent the e-mail from getting deleted.

Another fix is to use Outlook on your computer to download the e-mails. set Outlook to NOT delete the messages after download. Then sync your PPC with your desktop. Although you won't be able to use your Pocket Outlook directly to download your e-mails, you won't delete them. I just looked on the Pocket Outlook and i saw no way to prevent it from deleting e-mails upon recieving from a POP3.

When working wirelessly, Inbox synchronizes with your Email server. Even if you set your account to leave email on the server, if you read and delete it from the Axim it will delete it from the server the next time you connect.
