X50 Active Sync Trouble - Docked Only

I have had X5 and now have had X50 for months. All has worked flawlessly until tonight.
I can Wirelessly Sync with PC with no problems.
When I dock my X50, the Active Sync window pops up and says connecting, and the X50 says connecting and then user authenicated, however, after just a few seconds it disconnects. After this the X50 says to check modem connections/settings. I have rebooted PC, Soft Reset X50, re-installed Active Sync - still using 3.7.1. I have turned off my Pass 1 security program.
Nothing seems to be working to get sync'd via dock.
Any ideas?? I am saving a hard reset as a last resort...
