I plan to buy an X50V soon. Should I wait for the Windows 2005 operating system? Or, just assume that the 2005 will work on it as an upgrade? I like sure things, and I am sure that the 2005 will have significant improvements.
Well if you like sure things, you got a problem cause no one knows for sure whether Dell will offer an upgrade. The previous posters here seem optimistic, but I personally believe they are somewhat guilty of whishful thinking as the economics just do not justify Dell offering the upgrade.
You can wait till Dell releases a handheld with WM2005. Of course, by then, there will be talk of the next version of the OS. In fact, you can continue to wait for the next 80 years and I expect there will still be talk of a new feature to be released, so I recommend you forget about all that and just buy the best thing on the market now (an X50v). If Dell releases an upgrade, it will be a nice bonus.
just wondering, what did dell do when they offer an upgrade for WMP10 for x30? (there was an upgrade right?) do they just put a link on their website or do they send a disk? were people in the world other than in the US able to obtain the upgrade?
