Cannot connect to existing VPN connection.
Hello all - it's great to find this site. I am trying to help my boss out with her Axim x50v (I'm the IT Coordinator at work).
Anyways, I was able to connect to our secure Wireless no problem. Then I went to setup a VPN connection, I entered all the info and the connection is there (you can see it in the Connection Settings - it is the only VPN connection).
The problem is, this connection does not ever appear when clicking the antenna at the top where you access the wireless connections so I cannot connect. I have tried connecting from the settings screen by tapping and holding, but this never works either.
I have deleted and re-created it a hundred times and have tried different combinations of My Work Connection and My ISP and checking and unchecking "this connects to the internet" from the proxy tab, but nothing seems to work - it never shows up under the connection icon! I contacted Dell and they say they don't support VPN connections. So I'm stuck.
Any ideas?

I believe the VPN connection only shows up under the antenna if you have "The Internet" set as your connection method. If you're using Work it won't work.
Either way, if you've got one selected, try the other.

For me if i am in my LAN, i can set my connection to "work" in the Network cards. I can browse all my files on my computer, and sync wirelessly. I still havent tackled the task of being able to browse my PC from outside my network though.

You can manually tap and hold on the actual VPN connection in the settings to see if it'll connect.
As for your wireless settings... Do you have it connecting "To the internet" or "Work" for the network selection?
You can still browse your network machines using "The Internet", and it'll also open up the VPN option. I think. Heh.

Yeah me too - the tap and hold connect method does not do anything.
I spent some time with Dell's technical support on a chat and they said they don't support VPN connections so they can't do anything to help diagnose my problem.
Under connect to the internet or My ISP or whatever they call it, I don't have the option to add a VPN connection, only under "My Work". So changing that is not an option.
