Latest Broadcom BT Stack v1.6.0 build 0600

I've found a posting at xda-developers.com that points to the latest Broadcom bluetooth drivers for WM. It installs the 1.6.0 build 0600 drivers, and seems to work fine on my x50v. I now have access to both the High Quality Audio and bluetooth keyboard setup wizards and profiles.

I don't have a bluetooth headset or keyboard to test with it, but everything else still works the way it's supposed to. I mostly use bluetooth to Activesync, and there have been no obvious glitches or anything.

Thought I'd spread the word to all those trying to get a hold of the updated 1.5 stack.

You just copy everything in the \Windows directory?
The 1.5 stack I had was in CAB format...
Do you know any improvement with 1.6 compared to 1.5

Yes, I just copied everything to the \Windows dir and soft reset the device. I don't know what specific improvements there are over 1.5, other than some people seemed to have minor graphical issues with the Today screen with the 1.5 CAB. So far, Activesync over bluetooth seems a bit smoother and faster both with syncing and passthrough connections.

jadedboi, thanks for the pointer!

I tried the new stack to see if it would fix the OBEX file xfer bug.. no such luck.. still times out at ~800k on a file xfer with a Powerbook and Thinkpad. :(

But good to see new drivers getting out.

Be very wary of installing this if you are using the Thinkoutside bluetooth keyboard and mouse together. I had troubles with the v1.5. Just a warning: backup first!!!

Little trouble with btceavif.dll and bttrayCE.exe, the copy won't let me do the copy.

Just rename the same modules with different name before copying then use Resco Explorer to rename them back on the PPC. It seems to work well.

After soft reset, everything seems to be OK, the old BT device shortcuts still remain there... :approve:

Thanks Jadedboi for the infos!

Just updated over my old 1.5 bt driver. Works fine. Didn't have to re pair anything. The HP Bluetooth Headphones work just like before. Driver now says 1.6.

O.K., I give. I downloaded the file from xda-developers, copied it into the Windows directory, and did a soft reset but my version still shows 1.5. This version is in .rar format. What am I missing on my X50v?

Thanks in advance for any assistance!

KT

You have to unRAR (unzip) first to a directory on your PC then copy all the files to \Windows directory of your Axim

I can't seem to copy the BTTrayCE.exe either. Tried what you suggested but didn't work. Is it because I have the 3D BT icon? When i try to copy it over, it gives me the error "sharing violation". When i got to BT settings, it shows it as 1.6, but my BTTrayCE.exe is version 1.5.02600. Any suggestions?

Just rename the file, like said. It won't let you write over it, but it will let you rename it on the PPC. Afterwards, just copy the files over, then erase the renamed file.

Ohhh ic... Ok, i tried that. I was able to rename the ver 1.5 BTTrayCE.exe in windows. Then i copied the 1.6 BTTrayCE.exe into windows. But it still won't let me delete the 1.5 BTTrayCE.exe

EDIT: ok, nvm, I was able to delete it after a soft reset. But I no longer have the 3D BT icon :(. Is there one available that's ver 1.6?

BTTrayCE.exe is being loaded in the Windows\Startup directory. Maybe removing from there first might help?
