I downloaded the new Pocket Informant Public Beta and installed it on my x50v. A licensed version of PI was already installed. The new installation caused a lockup that could only be resolved by a hard reset. I'd recommend caution with this new beta.
Be sure to post this info, along with some details about what other apps you are running, on the WebIS forum. They have a special place just for the beta so check their site.
Can anyone post some info on the program? (or is that not allowed when testing?)
Any new cool features/interface changes etc...????
I love PI and if worth it I will most definetly upgrade.
The biggest addition seems to be timelines on most of the calendar pages. Then some graphics changes. It's a public beta so any can get it at the moment. :) Link.
There is a small list of additions in this thread also. The download was pulled for a little bit but it is suppossed to be back up.
I installed it right away and had no issues with it.
Didn't bother to make a backup either.
But then, I usually have two or three beta applications on my pda.
They took it offline for a while to do more testing and updating of bugs. Except for a few of the minor bugs I have had no problem with the beta and like the layout a little more than the old version...
.. here is info from their website on the public beta.
Sunday 10PM CST Update
I have removed the public beta for a short time (day or two) since we've got a good number of reports that we need to review and make sure we don't get a lot of "me toos". We greatly appreciate the help here.

I have been running the Beta since Sunday monring and it is a great upgrade! No problems but some things I had to get used to, like my categories were colored text in previous version became black text on colored background. Took me a while to figure how to get it back to text and not background, but the interface for all of this is much improved. I will definitely pay the extra $ for the upgrade when it becomes available.
