emails lost after restore and 8000abcd error

Hi,

I had a problem with my x50v and I had to restore a 2-week old backup. When I first synchronized, I realized that I had lost 2 weeks of emails, modifications to calendar... on my desktop . I would have thought that the desktop would have erased the PDA data but the contrary happened. I found after that the deleted records on my laptop were stored in the "deleted items" folder and I was able to minimize the damage. However, I now have approx. 25 synchronization errors with a message indicating "8000abcd" related to the attachments. very strange because I cannot find these attachments in my Inbox.

I have 2 questions:

- what should I have done to prevent my PDA from erasing records in my desktop after the restore?
- how can I get rid of the error messages? Can I erase records in the pda and synchronize from scratch?

Thanks

A hard reset may be in order, but wait and see if someone else has a solution.

Check your settings in Activesync. Go to options> Rules. You have 3 options for conflict resolution, make sure you do not have "always replace the item on this computer" selected, or whatever is on your pda will overwrite your existing files on your computer when you sync. This may solve your second question as well. Set it to "always replace the item on my device" and you can sync your pda to what you have on your computer.
