X30 Software (QVGA) on X50v?

Hi all,

I have a X30 High and have purchased a lot of software for it over the past year. Now I'm itching to upgrade to the X50V, mainly b/c of the price ($399 CDN) but i want to clarify one thing first before I commit.

Am I able to use Non-VGA software on the X50v?

Also after reading thru the X50 Hardware Troble forum. Looks like the WiFi/Bluetooth issue affected the majority of the X50v owners.. So i'm really sitting on the fence on this one. b/c my primary use for the ppc would be Wifi.. So is this worth an upgrade? or should I wait a bit longer..?

thx guys

oops for got to add.. Also that USB Cradle probably is really scaring me..! I don't want to burn out my usb ports on my desktop.. Any new owners here? Can you confirm if this has been fixed? :rolling:

Yes, you can use non-vga software on the X50v.
I've only had display problems with one piece of Software so far on my X50v, a guitar tuner that seemed to have everything displayed diagonally (maybe it was meant to be like that - I don't know anything about guitar tuning).

I got my axim in January and haven't had any problems with cradle, wifi or bluetooth (only used bluetooth once though - I don't have any other hardware for it).

I had some trouble with the screen not responding, but that turned out to be the screen protector slipping when I put the axim in the Dell slip case.

I'd say go for it, but I am biased.

I doubt that WiFi and Bluetooth problems affected more than a small percentage of users. Places like this function as a kind of condenser for trouble--the people who don't have a problem aren't that likely to mention it out of the blue. For what it's worth, I've never had a problem with WiFi or Bluetooth.

And the problem was really about spurious messages sent out by the programs. The hardware itself works fine.

I had a problem with Nice Start a password program but the developer said on his page that it wouldn't work with VGA devices. Haven't had a problem with anything else.
