Question Snails looks REALLY poor on my X50v. What should I do ?

Hello Everyone ! I just got my Axim X50v, and after charging it adequately, I turned it on and played around with it. After that, I loaded up Snails. When I launched it, the graphics seemed very poor, poorer that on my old iPAQ 1935. What did I do wrong ?

Also, I installed Snails into the Built-in Storage, if that helps.

Your help is appreciated !

Have you tried the enhanced GAPI driver? (links at top of this page)

DO NOT install programs into the Built-in Storage!!!
The Built-in Storage is a part of ROM and its speed is the slowest!

Ah, I installed the program into the main memmory, and it still looks poor. I also installed the GAPI driver, which seems to have no effect.

I have the snails demo, It is a simple game and I have played the demo for hours. It is not optimized for VGA and therefore you see the quality as poor. If you really like this simplistic game, you will play it as a challenge, not aesthetics. In the Death Challenge, with difficulty set at its highest level, I normally win most of the time.

Post a screenshot and we'll see what "poor" looks like.

I have snails installed on mine, and it looks just fine.

Do you mean low FPS? Bad graphics? No anti-aliasing? Poor can mean a variety of things.

Hm...after trying MULTIPLE programs (Snails, Arvale, Bejewelled, Atomic Pocket,Gamebox Gems and so on ), I have found that ALL of them preform poorly, the gameplay and such are fine, but the way the picture is displayed is just subpar. It looks fuzzier, and pixels become more distinct (ie, when PDAMill logo is displayed, you can see small boxes around the logo clearly). I just dont know what to do.

They look just as they would on any non-VGA device. Pretty much the program is written that way, and it's going to look like that on any device you run it on. You just think it looks worse because you're comparing it with VGA applications. Pretty much what you can do is be glad that those games are the only things that look crappy, and that you don't have to look at *everything* like that as you would with a non-VGA device.
