Scary isn't it.

One too many CD's, the first side of goodfellas and just about every program that runs is installed on my CF card. I have owned my x50v for less than 3 weeks. I think I need an 80 gig external!

I have owned mine for a couple of weeks, I just keep downloading games and software, install it, play with it, uninstall it, do hard reset, then install again and uninstall it and add more games and other apps. Sooner or later I will set it up, once I become familiar with all of the features and what programs I really like and want to purchase. This is my first handheld computer.

As I research these things, I am seeing these MP3 players coming available with 20 GB hardrives and IN MY OPINION, this is what you might see in the next generation of VGA capable Pocket Computers such as the Axim X50v. Unfortunately more space could mean more bloat in the software, not added availability in space for the user. And, in my opinion, the engineers of todays Pocket PC's are more concerned with size than "built in storage".

The one thing I recognise about owning my 1st Pocket Computer, is how the software is. It is optimized and requires the user to have a somewhat generalized idea of how computers work with files, and therefore the user will understand the relationship within files/memory/processor power and finally storage. I am relearning these things I once understood well.

Finally, This thing has arrived. It has a GREAT future. It is an MP3 player. It can play movies, and it FITS IN YOUR POCKET! The more I try different games, I see it being phenominal in that market. It won't replace laptops or desktops, but, cellphones will be more like it, more laptop users who don't actually use the keyboard will flock to it, and some that do use the keyboard will stash a bluetooth at work! I foresee my little Axim X50v pocket computer being outdated, just as I have learned to use it profecceintly and am ready for the next generation.

Good luck!

I wish I had the ability to express myself as well as you just did. One thing to add ... Living in a large city I just need to move a few feet and I'm on the net. It really is a luxury and I'm Loving it.

I've solved most of the storage issues. I use my iPod as a portable, external hard drive. I put some of my bigger movies on my iPod, connect the iPod to a PC and wirelessly, and seemlessly stream the movie to my Axim.

I've got the hook up! :approve:

FallN is there a way to go direct from the IPOD to an ax? I have stored files on my pod but it would be great to be able to store 20 or 40 gigs when on a long trip.

I believe the only chance of doing this is to get a USB Host CF Card. There is another post on the forum about this and a link to a site. It's not working very well last time I checked anyway...
