Volume is too LOUD

Has anyone else had this problem? Whenever I use pocket music or betaplayer with my standard earbuds the volume is way too loud even on the lowest settings. I have set the volume slider on the task bar to one notch above mute and put the sliders in the individual programs to the lowest setting and its still too loud. If I use WMP10 and set the volume to around 50% its perfect but WMP isn't great for watching videos and I like pocket music better for music. I don't really want to get another set of headphones with an external volume control, I like the ones I have. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there some other setting I need to use to get the volume to go a little lower? Thanks.

Yes I have this problem also. I asked the same question and here is the answer. Open BetaPlayer, go to options then settings. Use "select Page" and go to "advanced". In the advanced page look for and un-check "use system Volume". This will let BetaPlayer adjust the volume down lower. It is still just a touch louder then I would like but it is workable.

yeah download the X50Mix program and it gives you a headphone boost option.

Also you get a nice Treble and Bass Equaliser :)

Cheers

An easier fix is to open betaplayer, click on Options > Settings > Select Page > Advanced and uncheck Use system volume. Another way to do it would be to go to the Equalizer Page and enable the preamp and move the slider to the left. picard_beta recommends the uncheck method. I like the preamp method but he wrote the program so maybe you should follow his advice. ;)

I've tried that and it helps although it doesn't solve the problem completely. I've also used X50mix. It works very well, although its more convenient to use a program like pocket music where the equalizer is built in so I don't have to switch between launch two programs and switch between them every time I want to adjust volume. I appreciate all your suggestions, but I was just hoping there might be some system setting I didn't know about that could be adjusted to lower the volume range for all priograms.

Nope nobody's found a hack for that yet. Setting up the pre-amp/EQ in each program is the way to go.

Yeah that's right... set all your programs with thier own volume at the minimum, then set X50mix Headphone boost to the minimum value such that you can just still hear your music/movies.

Then you never need X50mix again (unless you like to fiddle) and your programs volume control and the main slider will work really well for you and not be to loud... but they can be turned down to very soft or up to very loud :)

Cheers
Adrian

So you're saying that if I Make those adjustments just once in X50mix I won't have to launch it everytime I want to listen to music or watch a video with normal volume? Thanks, I'll try that. Sounds like that would solve my problem.
