What phone software are people using?

Left my SE T630 phone on the forks of my forklift truck today, forgot it was there and stuck the forks under a pallet crushing the poor SE phone. The result was that the display is ruined even though the glass is OK. The phone still works for incoming calls but obviously I cannot call out cos I cannot see the screen anymore.
Anyway, had a bit of spare time and tried a couple of phone applications to see if I could resurrect the phone via bluetooth. Tried Simplecall but could not get it to dial out probably due to lack of patience on my behalf. mPhone works and has a load of features. I have a Seidio mount on the way and wondered if it would transform the X50v into a dash mounted handsfree phone using a bluetooth phone close by. Is anyone else using phone software and if so which one would you recommend I try.
