Question 03/03 A02 ROM Update what changes from Previous A02 ROM Update?

anyone know what changes were made in the last A02 Update for x50V ROM?

as someone else posted. if you updated last time to A02. the latest update date 03/03 I think ... will not install. it says the same ROM version as you have. but I look at the A02 Update files the current one listed and if you click previous updates ... they look to be different exe files.

http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/devices.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&SystemID=PDA_AXIM_X50&category=0&os=PPCA&osl=EN

is there any changes or just changes to the install program?

looks like Dell just fixed their site and now show only the previous A1 and A0 ROMs

but there was an A02 update that was dated prior to this 03/03 update.

I just downloaded the previous update (Labeled A01) but in the file description calls it A02 update ... well this file and the new 03/03/05 ROM update file. "called A02" ... has the SAME ROM update file dated January 5th 2005 !!! same file size !!!

I didn't do a file compare but it looks like they must have updated the installer program for A02 ROM update and re-released it again on 03/03/05 :realmad: ... I am guessing to cover the problems the few people had when doing the ROM update.

probably, wouldnt make sense for dell to release another firmware with the same name if it fixes different things ;)

and if they were expanding on a fix, id assume they would label it a02a or a02b something along those lines....

appears to be just a mistake in naming the file. I'm sure Dell will fix it soon.

indeed. I think what they did was patched the rom update program to make it less bug prone?
