Picture quality of Resco Picture Viewer vs Pictures

I found that the Dell x50v bundled Resco Picture Viewer does not have the same picture quality than the built-in Pictures program. I don't know why but the same jpg file has a little bit different output quality in these 2 programs.

Anyone has suggestion about that?

Thanks!

I find that the Resco shows my pictures with better quality than the built in picture program. I have no idea why? Are you saying the opposite?

I compare the text in the JPG file and found that built-in Pictures has smoother display than Resco. I don't know why.

Do you know that Resco supports VGA device like x50v?

Thanks again!

After checking the same jpg picture again, I guess the OEM version comes with Dell x50v does not support VGA quality screen. And the built-in Pictures does.

Resco does support VGA. Resco has several different options for viewing pictures though. For example you can view things at their native size (1 to 1 pixels) or scaled down versions to fit (if the image is large) . It may be that your viewing some sort of scaled version in Resco and the conversion isn't so smooth. Play around with some of the viewing options and you'll see the differences (assuming you're playing with oversized pictures). You should be able to view things just as well as the normal image view if not better. I think you may just have a couple settings in the way.

Edit: Just saw your post above. I'm not sure about the one that Dell ships, but the one you can get from Resco is VGA ready.

Thanks! Will try more options. However up to now I still found the built-in Pictures still have smoother photo quality especially if there are texts shown in the jpg file.

The jpg file I used to compare is a 2048x1500 size file and viewed at 100%.

I believe the version that comes from the Dell CD is version 5.00 OEM.

I have the latest version (5.20) from the Resco site which has many new enhancements and seems to be definitely VGA. The quality and speed can't be beat.
