Cannot add forward slash (/) or colon (:) when adding URL in PIE on X50v

Hi all,

I am a new owner (five days) of an x50v with A02 installed.

When I try to add a URL (favorite) in PIE, it will not allow the forward slash (/) or colon (:) characters! Grins...what to do, what to do?

FYI, I am using on screen keyboard to attempt to add the URL.

Has anybody else ran into this issue?

FYI2, I was trying to add the following URL which is mobile access to yahoo mail.

http://mobile.yahoo.com/mail * (no asterisk used in URL)

If I go with www.mobile.yahoo.com/mail it takes me to Yahoo search with one item.

That one item leads to yahoo sign on. Same URL as above (*).

Any ideas why the the forward slash and colon are disallowed in PIE???

TIA for any answers :)

That's odd, I have no problem adding the forward slash and colon to PIE. Do those characters work in other programs?

Yes, characters work in other programs.

A popup window comes up saying these two characters (among others) are not allowed.

It just won't let you use those charachters in the name box. that box is only for a simple name so you can find it. it isn't the url, at least on mine anyway.

Hmmmmm...okay.

So how to do manually (i.e., type in) add a favorite in PIE?

Or is this not possible?

The easiest way is to just go to the site, then click the add to favorites button?

Just don't use any fancy symbols in the name of the favorite.

Not sure where the confusion is.

1) open PIE
2) type mobile.yahoo.com in address bar
3) hit the favorites button (the star) on the bottom of the screen
4) hit the add/delete tab
5) hit the add... button
6) change the name of the favorite (optional)
7) change the folder to store in (optional)
8) hit the add button

this is the only way to add a favorite. you pretty much have to go to the site first. you can't type in a URL in the add favorite window.

hope that helps

Yup, that's the easiest way to do it. Go to the URL and then make it a favorite. That's what I do.
