Internet access while docked wth craddle.

Hi there, i have a couple of questions for you guru's out there, first, why is it that when ever i dock my axim with the craddle, i can no longer access iternet on my axim? if i remove it from craddle, access comes back to normal (via wirless), but as soon i dock it it wont work.. any ideas?

Second, when installing software via activesync, is there a way to move the installation to a folder within my SD Card? i only get the option to install to SD Card, and the root directory of it its becoming a mess....

thanks

First off you almost answered your on question, when you cradle your axim and you are connected to your computer it will be wired then assuming that you wish to connect to the internet this way. When you disconnect(decradle or pull the usb out of the hub)it will assume that you now wish to do it wirelessly and will connect to the internet that way. That is the logic that the developers incorporated in the OS of these devices which makes sense. Why would you want to be wired to a computer if you are trying to be wireless And last when you install apps on your device it will just give you the general locations as a selection. After you install it you can move the app. to the folder you wish by cut/copy and paste.

If you still wish to connect to the internet once your Axim is in the cradle and syncd, then do the following.

-open the properties for your internet connection (found in the Network Connections folder)
-go to the advanced tab
-check the box to allow other users to connect to the internet with that connection.
-done!

If you do cut and paste the folder on your SD card as described by Bob Q you will need to update the shortcut on your Axim. You can do this through file explorer in Activesync or on your Axim.

Well i tried that but no luck, i have no checkbox for "allow other users to connect to the internet", i think probably is becouse my internet connection is via lan? ( no dsl. cable.... its public ip on my ethernet interface on my isp lan ).. anyways.... i just stoped activesync program on the axim and it worked thru wirless even if its cradled.

Thanks for yout input.

In Activesync, do you have the pass through settings set to connect to the internet?

You should still have the option even if you are connected to a LAN. Are you on XP? Here is a screen shot of what I am referring to. I have this option in my LAN and WAN.
