Too high volume!

Is there anyway to lower the volume on X50v more than the X50 mix utility and the built in volume slider allows?

Keeping everything on the lowest setting still blows my ears out when i use my sony mdr-ex71sl headphones :crooked:

Hmm... perhaps you can get a volume control that is external to the axim? I use one to better control the volume when listening to music and watching movies.

Check out:

Or you can tell us what program you are using to listen to music with as some of them have options to use a seperate volume control or use the system volume. The wrong combo can produce very LOUD results.

I was using betaplayer and I tried using the pr-EQ settings which helped...but all other system sounds are still just as high (i know some people would say turn e'm off but i happen to like e'm :) ) but the idea of using an external volume control doesn't sound to bad.

Well then that is more then likey your problem. Check the settings under OPTIONS->Settings->Select Page - Advanced and see if the box is checked for "Use System Volume". I leave mine UN-Checked and use the volume control in betaplayer. Give it a try and let me know how it goes.

I also have to complain about the volume level. It's tooooo loud. I tried to use X50Mix to lower it but whenever the main volume slide bar hits about 10% there's no any volume.

I found the volume too loud too. This solved the issue. Thanks!

I posted this same problem about a month ago. I tried leaving the "use systme volume" unchecked in betaplayer as mentioned above, but that didn't help when I was using other programs. The only solution I found to be really good was to buy a pair of headphones with a volume control on the headphone cord. They were only $20 and it solved the problem. I just don't know why the default setting is so darn loud. Do they think everyone is listening to rock or rap and likes their ears blown out?? Is this something they could fix in the next ROM update??
