Inbox – Number of Items Not synchronized

Whenever I delete emails on my PC, the number of unsynchronized items in on Activesync for the Inbox is always much larger. It doesn’t match 1 for 1.
For example, if I delete 2 emails on my PC, the Inbox in Activesync (I have it set to synch manually) will show 6 unsynchronized items in the Inbox.
But this doesn’t seem to cause any problems. My Dell Axim x50v synchs fine. The total number of emails in the PC inbox and Axim inbox are the same (around 250 emails). All emails open fine on both.
I use:
Microsoft Outlook 2002 (10.6515.6714) SP3
Microsoft Activesync Version 3.7.1 (Build 4034)

Any ideas or suggestions?
