My X50V German still haves a00 ROM !

Please help me to find any german ROMs.
Is there also a03 German or a02 German ???

Have you gone to Dell's website, then to 'Technischer Online Support', 'Privatanwender', 'Ein anderes System auswählen', then type in the 5/6 character ID that came with your X50v (should be on the X50v's box, I think), once the pop-up screen loads. Once you do this, you should see information about your X50v, eg. when you bought it. From the screen, select your Operating System (Microsoft Pocket PC 2003), Submit and hopefully you'll see a link for Dell Axim X50v VGA systems. This will give you a link to the latest German ROM update available.

Wow, this is my first post in the forums and yet I have sth. to share :)I found this, it states the following for my x50, but it is almost the same as for x50v:

Versionsdatum: 20/04/2005
Beschreibung: Axim X50 system update utility with A03 English ROM image for Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition. This update can be applied to either Axim X50 520MHz and/or Axim X50 416MHz.

so it seems like there is no german rom update but you can however update your german os?! Does anyone of you know wether it "healthy" for a german WM2003 to be upgraded with an english rom file?

It's not possible to upgrade a german axim with english rom. Here is my thread about this topic.

Even worse I was able to ugrade from A01 to A02, but I cannot upgrade to A03. It says that there is a language issue, I own an English device but I tried to update from en PC with french OS, could be that the flashing program is also checking that.

Change your XP regional setting to US english on the advance tag.Then restart and now it should work.

It's is really crazy, that german Axim X50v users have to work with version a00 !
I mean I payed also a lot of money for it - how can it be that DEll doesn't support us - as I said haven't even found version a01 !!!

The problem is that my PC is under Win 2K, and I changed the regional settings to English (US) and it was still failing with this message:

The procedure CANNOT proceed due to the following reason:

*the update does not support this language version.


Finally I could find an PC under XP and I did the same changes but this time It succeed, I have A03 now. :)
