DOSBox on X50v (again, new version?)

This comes up once in awhile; I know I brought it up a few months back with regards to mamaich's port of DosBox, though in the end that one didn't work with WM2003SE that we all have.

Just noticed the Wargus/Strategus port to PoPC so was poking around that site and noticed the lad also noting hes updated the DosBox port to work with WM2003SE .. so hello, I'm wondering how well that works.. but I'm away from a useful connection for awhile :) Anyone able to try it out?

(For that matter, anyone try Wargus (Warcraft 2 mod for Strategus) or the latest fpsece out? :)

I tried wargus and it is playable..but because I dont have original Warcraft II files I cant do much motr than moving around with demo maps

FpseCE 094 is faster than before but still needs imrpovements...
Some reported issues with memory on the last version...I can play most games I tried with FS=2 and sound OFF

I cant use the new dosbox...but if someone wanna explain to use that would be cool

thanks

see you

I tried fpsece 0.9.3 and it seamed to work, though sluggish.. but R-Type Delta that I wanted to try woudl crash when you died, which made it over-challenging :)

Wargus.. I just re-bought WC2 a few months back, the battle.net edition, for a laugh ($9.99 in bargain bin).. if it works with this, that'll be slick.

I'll see if I can get dosbox and see what she can do :) (Eye of the Beholder series...)

For Eye Of The Beholder series i suggest PocketDOS. Its an order of magnitude faster than DOSBox. Dont use any plugins, since Eye Of The Beholder is written for real mode and thus works with the provided i8088-i80186 emulator.

I'm actually more interested in some other games, but EoB is most recognizable by others. (For me, ITs Wizardry 7, Crusaders of the Dark Savant.) DOSBox isn't the fastest emu out there, but if it works at all I'd be amused. (In PC versions, it has Adlib audio emulated, which is cool. I've written my own x86 emu, but never got into crazy hardware or audio.. so that blew me away :)

Managed to get the dosbox stuff downloaded to the device (needed to get both the XScale dist for the SDLs and datafiles, and WM3002SE download for the current executable.) Perhaps it needs to run from a console or command line app.. just tapping on it does nada (it exits immediately.) I emailed the author :)

maybe a dumb question but...
is there a step by step, that tells those of us less adept at tech matters how to get WarcraftII going on the Axim X50V?

For me, DOSBox just seems to lock up my x50v. I have tried both executables just for the sake of argument. The PocketDOS program seems to work ok for some things but unfortunately doesn't seem to support much of my old stuff.
