What do those VGA brute force hacks do?

Aish.. this might be a stupid question, but what do those VGA brute force hacks do?
Lots of tutorials say something like use vga brute force, then change a dll... or this and that..

What does it do? In terms of results and what it does internally

Why I ask... I ask because I have tried it and it doesnt change anything!

If i'm not mistaking it fools the OS that a application is 'VGA aware' en therefore starts it in VGA mode. This is also why it won't work in apps like PIE that have this feature allready enabled.

You mean OZVGA doesnt work in PIE? I run 99.9 % in OZVGA mode and I use PIE daily. never have any issues. Never have to turn back to SEVGA.

Keep in mind though that some Apps will not start when the VGA Hack is running. Also some programs such as Wififofum will run but will show only the top left quarter of the radar and the list shows small too.

Why not run OzVGA and have a look for yourself? A VGA Brute Force hack simply does what OzVGA does, except that it ONLY does it to the spoecifically hacked program, and does not require a soft reset. OzVGA applies brute force VGA hack to ALL apps and requires a soft reset to swith between SEVGA and OZVGA ("True VGA")

Get this file: http://207.153.195.134/VgaRes.zip

and this file: http://207.153.195.134/OzVGA053.zip

Unzip the first and copy the files to the \Windows directpry on your PDA
Unzip the Second and copy the file to the \Windows\Start Menu\Programs dircetory on your PDA
Tap The start button, programs and then OzVGA, and click the OzVGA button and there you have it. To revert back, do the same again (although the button will now be called SE VGA to undo it)

This can be tweaked to change the look somewhat, but this should give you a good idea of how thinsg look.

I think with 'Brute Force VGA Hack' awdark means the tweak delivered by Tweaks2K2. With this you can select individual apps to run VGA opposed to OZ_VGA wich makes your whole system VGA.
