Hidden Contrast option in V50X!!!

Hi Guys,

Not sure if you guys know abt this but I still want to share with you guys!! I've done some test and found out there is a hidden contrast setting for our V50X!! when I played my dvd ripped file, it looks more clearer and the colors are richer dudes... :love:

ok first you'll need a registry editor....
here's the link to the one I use
http://www.phm.lu/downloads/download.aspx?{940B734A-C437-41C7-ADED-2A4418802FD3}

then you need to go to this program, first you must do a full registry backup b4 doing any changes

then go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\Contrast\ value on your registry. Rename the "Redirect" value to "Redirect disabled". close the registry program and finally do a soft reset.

after that, go to your settings options, you'll see an additonal icon called contrast, click and change your contrast accordingly...

here is guide link for other hidden options (not ment for V50X but I've only tried the contrast option so far)not sure if the rest works...

Enjoys dudes.....

Thanks for the tip. Now, I can get the screen the way I want it and not some default setting set by someone else. :approve:

You can also just delete the Redirect key and it'll work too.

I guess I'm just conservative by nature: If I delete the Redirect Key (which sounds a lot easier, and therefore more appealing to my inherent laziness), will I regret it later? Is the Redirect key used for anything else besides just keeping the contrast icon off the screens?

thanks!

I knew about this since last year, if I remember correctly. The registry hack also works with the toshiba e704 too.

thanks

if it's just for the movies, betaplayer allows to adjust contrast, brightness, and saturation from within the program...

what pisses me off is that dell does not produce a 24 bit color screen..

well 24-bits = 2^24 = 16 777 216, or 16.7 million colours. That would eat battery life quite abit. I'd like to see a 262k colour display though but as far as I know there is no pocketpc device that has one, sure smart phones and such do but not ppc's...
