How often do you reboot?

How often do you guys need to warm start your X50v?

I find that I have to reboot a few times a week. There is usually some app or screen, like the programs screen, that refuses to close and you cannot go back to the desktop. I try using Majic Button to force it, no good.

Only thing that fixes it is a reboot.

Very annoying in a $450 PDA. Seems buggier than regular Windows...

just remember most causes of a reset are third party apps, 'usually' that is.

2-3 a week. Almost never forced (ie - lockup). Usually just getting rid of the memory holders...

Not flaming, but a couple of questions to consider...
How often do you reboot yout desktop PC?
Is that annoying?
Which one is quicker to reboot?

To throw a spanner in the works, I'll answer you. I reboot my laptop and my desktop about once every 3-4 months, if not longer. I leave them running on 24/7. :approve:

just to toss it in the mix. I would bet that rebooting the Ax even 2-4 times a day for that 3 month time you reboot your PC still takes less time. if not just a bit more.

I reboot my PC when needed. which is usually still a 3rd party software problem that hangs the system.

But you cant complain about the Ax. if you didnt install any apps then you would have a pretty boring unit. in saying that the fault is not the $450 unit as you say it is the $12-$20 app you installed onto it. :)

I reboot my media PC only when the power goes out, as I don't have a choice in that case, so perhaps 3 or 4 times a *year*.

My main machine, only when installing something that requires a reboot, so maybe only once a month. And that holds true for WinXP or Linux.

My girlfriend's machine, it gets rebooted once every 2 months or so.

3-5 times a week. That originally seemed excessive to me, but it seems to be the norm.

Big Smile Never!

I almost never have to reboot my Axim X50 Mid. However, I am a little twisted

I like to hard reset it about every 1 to 2 weeks just to keep it clean! Sick, I know!!!

Still, I love my Dell!!

a couple times a week. And I never turn my PC off, except for the reboots, when loading updates, etc. It runs 24/7. Since I did a hard reset and reload of only programs I need and enjoy, my Axim has been very stable. Only when a new program tosses the "wrench" in, does the Axim seem to hang up.

I found that I have to reboot after ~10 cycles of logging in/out of University's WiFi network (2 or 3 times a week) - I can't wake up my Wifi. I think the problem is with Movian VPN client. Never had a such problem when was connecting without VPN Client.
