Can X50 be synched via WIRELESS?

Is there a way to sync my X50 with my Laptop WIRELESSLY. I know that we can sync it using bluetooth...is that the only way?

My laptop doesn't have bluetooth...could I use my wireless network to sync. Please advise.

Thanks a bunch.

If you set up your wifi connection as a work network, not internet it should be able to connect. you will also have to add an entry (unless you have some sort of name resolution server on your network?) to resolve name<>ip i.e. host files.
I've not tried this myself because i've been told it interfere's with internet connectivety on the pda.
Obviously you have anable network sycn in activesnyc to (under connections page)

Sorry i can't be of more help :p

Worried

Thanks guys!

I am not a big techie guy...I read the guide quickly...seems simple...I'll give it a shot!

I am still recovering from a disastrous Dell's A03 ROM upgrade...7 HARD RESETS and counting...

Oh well, life in the techie la-la land...

WiFi Sync Troubles - HELLLLLLLLLLP!!!!

Help Guys!

I spent all day today going thru every page of the "WiFi Sync" documentation posted on this site - not no avail!

When trying to sync using WiFi - I get an error "Uanble to connect. Verfiy your dial-up or proxy settings are correct, and try again".

I've checked my settings several times and everything seems to be order (at least I think so) but still it doesn't work. Can someone please help!

Thanks.

Hey Teligent,
Just went through the doc myself and connected with no issues. Did you make sure you enabled "NetBIOS over TCP/IP" in your desktop settings?

And...did you change the default name of your PPC? The normal default has the (_) underscore character that will not work with WiFi.

The "Unable to connect with current settings" message is usually caused by having "My ISP" or "The Internet" selected instead of Work in connection settings when you are not using a proxy. To correct this:

Select Start, Settings, Connections (tab), Connections, "Set up my proxy server"

Check the top box ("This network connects to the Internet"), but leave everything else on this page blank. OK (if tapping the upper right corner to close does not keep the settings, try using the enter key on the keyboard).

Advanced (tab), Select Networks, Chose "My Work Network" from both drop down lists. OK.

OK your way back to the Today page and soft reset.

I did change the default name to a new name, but that has a "_" as well. Is that the problem?

If so, how do rename it? please help!
