It works EXCELLENT. it works like SEVGA and OZVGA in that it can FORCE executables to umm be Forced into true VGA. It olleviates you having to Soft Reset everytime you wanna go from QVGA to VGA. This works especially great for ADOBE Reader which is what I used SEVGA for in the first place.

BRIEF TUTORIAL (I aint a writer)
once you download these files unzip the ForceHires.zip, and gsgetfile.zip. Copy the .CPL and .DLL file to the \WINDOWS directory of your PocketPC. Then you will see the FORCEHIRES program in your Settings Menu. That's all there is to it. Hope this REALLY helps :D

Is this only for x50v? I have x50 mid, and it pops up with a message saying:

This applet can't take effect now, because device works on low resolution mode



(Have downloaded both files .cpl and .dll and put them in /WINDOWS directory too :approve: )

Also tried Program Resolution Swap but that doesnt seem todo anything, even Internet Explorer?

I believe that this program is intended for VGA PPCs such as the X50V and the HP iPAQ hx4705.

i did the best to get over the KATAKANA but unfortunatly i can't

in place of DLL i got a hole GSGERFILE i am not sure that i need it,

can you please put it in your message so we can download it and realy use it .

One more thing I wanted to know do most of you guys and Gals use Tweak2k2? It seems good but don't know if I really need it?

Most of the tweaks in Tweak2K2 are useless. SKTools provides much better value for your money.

there a program that will, in realVGA mode downsize apps to seVGA? That would be quite useful for me, its annoying soft-resetting to play games and such..

The gsgetfile.dll zip contains 3 gsgetfile's with the exact same name. Which do I add to my windows folder? I added the largest and it didn't seem to work, and I can't add all three as they're all same the name.

Growat: You add the one that fits your system architecture. If that doesn't mean anything to you, you want the ARM file.

One problem with this program is that it doesn't install itself properly and therefore doesn't actually run as expected.
This might be the cause for the numerous complaints that it doesn't work.
When installed properly, it works quite well.

Instead of putting a shortcut to itself into \Windows\StartUp -- it inserts itself into the INIT section of the registry.
The problem is that it gives itself a value of 1000 (presumably to avoid conflicts with other programs) which will not be loaded on most PPCs.

You can fix it by editing the registry and lowering the value to something more reasonable (I think I used 65) or you can manually create a shortcut to the Forecehires.exe in your StartUp folder.
If you edit the registry you should pick a value that is not already being used.
Also note that items in the INIT section of the registry are NOT bypassed by utilites like mCube's SafeMode nor the SafeMode built into Pocket Plus 3.

Needed to drag the viewing bar right in the Winzip window to see they were different. Added the ARM file and it works.
