Missing £ key on X50V virtual keyboard

I live in the UK but bought my X50V from the USA. I have set the Regional Settings to the UK but cant find a way to enter a £ symbol via the virtual keyboard. On a UK keyboard the £ symbol is 3 but on the virtual keyboard it is # as per a USA keyboard. So the regional settings dont seem to affect the virtual keyboard at all.

Anyone sorted this ?

Press the "123" button, top left of the keyboard. You should then find the £ sign bottom row, fourth key from the left.

I guess not, that's not too cool, I'm guessing since the device was originally purchased in the US, it could possibly be embedded in the OS here? I don't know, the difference of a purchase from the US and let's say Japan, don't know if I could use the US on the Japanese device. Either way, if you click the button next to the "Ctl" button on the keyboard, it brings up a bunch of symbols and that symbol (forgot how to type it on an American keyboard...) is found where the "5" is supposed to be.

I thought you probabably were joking ...
Not to bate you either but I've never understood why the metric system is so hated in the states. It has so many advantages over Imperial measurements (yes i know there would be transition period but I'm sure you could manage it)

Metric is much better than standard, it would just take to much of an effort to change over. Everybody would have to get new kitchen stuff, all new road signs, new cars. It would just take too much money.

Since the missing pound key has been found, I'll comment on this:

Hmmm, let's use liquid units of measure to test this theory:

'Standard' liquid measures:
3 teaspoons = 1 tablespoon
2 tablespoons = 1 ounce
8 ounces = 1 cup
2 cups = 1 pint
2 pints = 1 quart
4 quarts = 1 gallon

So, the multiplier to get from unit to unit is 3, then 2, then 8, then 2, then 2, then 4 - what's wrong with that? Personally, I think 10 is over-rated and predictable. For instance: How many milliliters are in a litre? That's just too simple, no challenge at all! On the other hand - How many teaspoons are in a half-gallon? NOW we're having some fun!

I definitely agree with you trancerman! :approve: The same silliness can be demonstrated with length / distance :rolling:
