Wife's rarely buy gadgets for their husbands. Perhaps initially but not later in marriage. There are so many more important things they have on their shopping list than some X50v toys.
GF's- completely different story. A clever one tries to understand you first and please you with toys :) so that she can use you later. Run, run, as fast you can!!!!

I bet she got herself that sweet 24" LCD w/tuner!

Actually, my ex was great with presents. She bought me a top of the line Palm for Xmas one year. I turned it on, played with it, read the manual, and returned it the next day. LOL, only present from her that NEEDED returning!
