X50v charging voltage?

I need some help here. I have a battery pack for my Sony PSP which outputs 6v. This plugs right into the X50v connector. Does the connector regulate the voltage let in? Can I use this safely without hurting my Dell?

It should take 6v without too much difficulty. The Axim's native power supply is rated at 5.4v, but there's a certain amount of flexibility, and you're better off with a little more voltage than a little less. Go ahead, but if the Axim gets too hot or runs off the internal battery, disconnect it.

How many amps does the PSP charger output? the Axim can only take about 1.5-2amps, maybe a tiny bit more @ 5.4v so, 6v @ that same amperage is quite a bit more wattage.. I'd be careful!

It will only draw the amps it needs. I'd be more concerned about the 6v. It's rated for 5v and 5.4v. I tried a 6v unit and it would not accept the power (the protective circuits kicked in and blocked it). There is a long thread on power to the X50 in the X50 accessories forum, sticky at the top of the discussions.
