Can't copy files from x50v to desktop

Hi all,

I'm having a BIG BIG problem.
I can't copy files directly from my x50v to desktop. Why???
I open up my computer->my devices-> select a copy and then copy to my desktop, the process did run but when it finished, the file is not there.

Some one.... help me. Thank you.

Don't aspect me to dump all files to main memory and do synchronize.

No reason why this should not work. Performed the above faultlessly although menu names slightly different. (I use XP in classic mode)

Did following.
MY COMPUTER\OTHER - Mobile Device\ (Right click ->select copy on file)
DONT SHUT EXPLORER WINDOW
(Right Click on Desktop ->Paste)

You could try selecting EXPLORE from Activesync window, then dragging file to desktop. Is same principle but slighly different method.

What sort of file are to trying to copy, and is it the same will ALL file types?

Are you copying large files? If so, try a card reader. Using AS to transfer large files often results in errors.

This might sound silly but have you press F5 to refresh your screen after copying. As Gigi stated a card reader is a faster and better solution for larger files or any transfer for that matter.

You did see the part about keeping the device window open? I had the same problem until I noticed this.

Can you 'drag and drop' the files onto your PC?

I know it's a long shot, but you could try to re-install ActiveSync then do a soft reset of the Axim.

Get a card reader for big files, use wifi to transfer smaller mp3s etc.

I never use activesync for anything anymore. Even when I install programs, I always get the cab version or run the install on the desktop and transfer the temporary cab file onto my PPC and run it there.
