Dell Wifi Utility Balloon disable?

Is there a way to disable the stupid pop up balloon from the built in wifi app on the X50V. Its quite annoying to be in a city with this thing popping in every few seconds finding new APs. I' rather scan manually with a 3rd part app like wififofum....

Apps like Tweaks2k2.net allow you to disable this. It's referred to as the Zero Config utility. I'm sure it's just a registry change or two to do it on your own with a ppc reg editor. I'd suggest searching on the web or here for steps.

There is also a good free program from the author of WiFiFoFum called WZCDisabler that allows you to turn it on and off from a control panel. I beleive it can be downloaded from teh same site as wififofum.

Noooooo! Dont disable WZC! Annoying to fix.

Start>Settings>Sounds and Notifications>Notifications
I dont recall exactly what it was, but it should be under "Connection Established" uncheck the "Display Message on Screen" and it shouldnt come back to haunt you.

Yeah.. I agree that disabling WZC with WZCDisabler seemed to mess up my machine. I have since done a hard reset though (when I upgraded to AO3) and everything is back to normal.

Hmm, Interesting. Could you give some more details on how it caused a problem? I've used it ever since I found it on both my X30, and X50v, and never had any issues at all. I use Oddysey almost exclusivly for managing my connections, and WZCDisabler doesn't seem to interfere with it at all.

It turns out its not Axim X50v specific, but rather WM2003SE specific. I already found the fix that Awdark mentioned - works like a charm and gets rid of that annoying baloon.....
