Storing and synchronizing "My Documents" from sd card?

Hey all, first time poster to this forum, currently using an X50v and have a question I've been grappling with. I am trying to free up space on my Axim's main memory, seems like it gets smaller and smaller as the days go by, and I read where you can create a \My Documents folder in another location after deleting a "ignore_my_documents" file from that location. That's great, it worked, BUT is there no way to sync those files if you regularly edit them, such as Word or Excel spreadsheets?
You can view those files more or less as before on the Axim itself, but when sitting in the cradle and trying to browse via Activesync, they are not there and cannot apparently synchronize with the desktop 'puter. Am I missing something or did I misunderstand the point of being able to move files to other locations? Sorry if this has already been covered, I searched for awhile and didn't find anything that answered my question. Thanks in advance.

Hi, welcome to the site.
As far as I can work out, its down to Activesync. It will only let you sync the main memory. I think there are other sync software available (Mightysync?) that are much more versatile.
I hope that is some help. I'm a only a newbie myself and still struggling to get to grips with all this.

I had heard of Mighty sync (and might have even tried it on my Ipaq a couple of years ago), I was sort of hoping that there was an option with the newer pocket pc that allowed for this capability without 3rd party software.
