how to play .swf files on x50v?

I have saved some files from the internet (copied from temp internet files) and they will play on my computer. I have them on my PPC, but how can I make them play? I have flash installed, I can view the exact same things if I go to the website, but there is no application associated with the files, and I tried to open them with PIE, but it wouldn't work.

Any hints?

They connect be shockwave files. Since there is no seperate flash player program for ppc, you might have to save the whole webpage and run it from PIE.
I far as I know, there is no way to run an .swf file on ppc.(except in PIE)

fixed first link - neither is free

You can create your own html script pointing to the location of the .swf file that would be free.

These two programs are not free, I have tried both and prefer the one in the second link

the free FlashPlayer is only a PIE plug-in...
Make an html file for every .swf file that you want to play on your PPC.

Here is sample html to use with your files: (just change the YourFileName.swf)

Code:

Flash

also, if you use pie... make sure you compile your swfs for flash player 6 and not 7. pie only supports player 6 at this point.

I tried the coding and it works marvelously. Just try it for yourself and enjoy. I know I did. Plus if you spend money, usually you get a better product than u can come up with, unless you're good at coding.

i use this...works fine (check out myPDA is see it in action!)

i know it says that it isn't free, but my evaluation copy never expired...and no, i didn't do anything funny to it. i mean, once the evaluation copy expires, i'll most likely buy it...it's on 15 bucks after all, and it works GREAT!

240 x 320 pixels

Some thought:

I am guessing that they are limiting the size!!
Since flash movies are scalable, therefore any tool showing flash content in full screen should also do VGA….

on the other hand the content could be an issue; for instance if the flash movie was made with PPC in mind and contains lots of small bitmaps or embedded video it wouldn’t look as good if you resize it!!

Some extra info about flash movies:

Flash supports two types of image formats, vector and raster. Vector graphics are created with lines and curves and descriptions of their properties. Raster images are created with pixels. Vector graphics are very small in file size and they scale without distorting the image at any resolution.

Though Flash is a vector-based authoring tool, you can also use bitmap images and embed video in Flash. (Bitmap images and videos are not created natively in Flash.)
Unlike vector graphics, bitmap images and video are not very scalable.
