Hardware buttons w/ SD card apps...

Hello... Searched but couldn't find an answer to this one. Most of my software is installed on an SD card that's always in the x50v. The programs all work fine when launched from the SD card.

However, when I assign on of the apps to one of the hard buttons, and then use the hard button when the unit is "off", it powers up and tells me that it "cannot find the app". Once it's powered on, it will lauch the app just fine with the hard button. It's as though WM2003SE doesn't mount the SD card until after it tries to lauch the app.

Anyone know a fix for this? or do you really have to have hard button apps in main memory?

Thanks..

This is why it is said to install Today screen add-ons to Main Memory - the PocketPC will take a number of seconds to "activate" SD and CF cards on powering up so they won't be ready.

In your case, the OS is registering your key-press and powering up and trying to launch the app, but the SD card isn't yet ready to be read.

Only solution I imagine, is to install the app to main memory. May be worth trying BIS (sorry - replying now and not quoting and can't recall if you said what Axim you have - so not sure if you have BIS) as I *think* BIS is initiated before SD/CF.

Thanks... All my Today Plugins are in main memory, but I was hoping to avoid putting Pocket Informant in there due to it's size. I have a few ideas here before I give up and install there though.. thanks for you message :)
